Shirin Nehsat is a major Iranian video artist living in the USA. The exhibition presents 2 films and 8 photographs that pay tribute to the Egyptian Diva Oum Kulthum, Azzedine Alaïa’s favorite artist who cradled her childhood.
“Every first Thursday of the month, we had to dine early. We had to stay calm, not make any noise, because my grandfather was trying to pick up the waves coming from Egypt on the radio, because Umm Kulthum was singing. It was the first great voice I listened to as a child.
