Taking care of (“Prendre soin”) is the first book by Marin Driguez, published by Hoëbeke – Gallimard.
The hospital is a microcosm where pain, healing and hope meet. The photographer Marin Driguez spent more than 2 years of daily presence in hospitals Saint-Pierre, Brugmann and the Institut Jules Bordet and 5 years documenting the hospital environment.
By making dialogue photographs and interviews collected from the women and men who give and receive care, this slow and meticulous work offers a journey in the intimacy of the hospital, to restore this world in all its complexity, between giving and sacrifice, struggle and resignation, weariness and conviction.
