Under the impetus of a renewed team, the Averroès Meetings become the New Averroès Meeting. They preserve a rich heritage of thirty years while engaging in a new cycle, with Marseille as anchor, the Mediterranean as horizon and the world for resonance.

To mark this new cycle, a theme was needed that is both unifying and striking in creating the foundations of a discourse and vision on the Mediterranean: Mediterranean year zero

Is it time to start from scratch? Do we still have to wait for the catastrophe or do we have to face the idea that it has already begun? Should we reset the clock and forget the past? Or is it more about suspending the course of time, for a moment, to try to understand what happens to us? It is not certain that we still have a choice between all these options.
