Henrike Stahl – 2nd INSTANTS Photographic Residency

The INSTANTS residence is a carte blanche by which Château Palmer and Leica affirm their support for contemporary photographic creation.
Second guest artist, the German photographer Henrike Stahl has captured the winemaker’s work over the months with a complicit sensitivity, observing the transmissions, experimenting at will and literally plunging his prints into the earth to germinate visions.
The exhibition presents the works from this residency.

“At Château Palmer, I naturally met young people from the Grand Parc, in Bordeaux, trained in the work of the vine. (…). It is one of the first things that struck me when I arrived here: the amount of beginners rubbing working the land, supervised by more experienced winemakers. I quickly perceived how transmission was part of a more global philosophy: Palmer, they don’t just make wine, they grow people. (…). The young people here are buds. My role was to photograph these budding buds.”
