Maurizio Galante signs a theatrical couture all in references. We travel between origami, African body paintings, Egyptian or Mayan jewelry. Amazing accordions of colored organza, geometric puzzles of articulated mini panels, clever folding of gazar, fascinating beads embroidered between each layer of a textile millefeuille both technical and artisanal. Galante doesn’t leave you indifferent, all the more so because he plays with heavy or airy fabrics that undulate, unfold endlessly and change color. The bodies striped with lipstick, the foreheads as if covered with dense eye shadow (Kim Bourhila for Shu Uemura), the hair braided tightly and bulging with colors (Jean-Claude Gallon), the head jewels in metal, feathers or stones, which serve as XXL earrings, give this collection an ethnic and baroque relief.
