Paolo Pellegrin, an Italian photographer and member of the prestigious agency Magnum, is the heir to the great names of photo-reportage, such as W. Eugene Smith or Don McCullin. During his career, he has received numerous international awards including several World Press Photos and the Robert Capa Prize. Julia Gragnon discovered the work of Paolo Pellegrin thanks to the Rencontres d’Arles in 2008. ” His exhibition “As I was dying” was in the last building of the SNCF Ateliers. What a shock to discover his images, their power, the beauty of his prints, the depth of his blacks…”
A few months later, she was at the Festival de Photojournalisme, Visa pour l’Image, in Perpignan. Meeting him alone in an alley, she approaches him, declaring her admiration and her desire to present her work.
For this second exhibition, the Galerie de l’Instant presents some forty images depicting part of his career.
