From March 28 to April 1, 2013, ART PARIS ART FAIR welcomes 144 galleries from 20 countries under the nave of the Grand Palais. A springtime rendezvous for modern and contemporary art, ART PARIS ART FAIR reaffirms its singular identity as a European fair oriented towards the promotion of Eastern scenes (Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia) and puts a country in the spotlight for the first time by inviting Russia.
A DEEPLY RENEWED AND MORE INTERNATIONAL SELECTION With 74 new entries, the 2013 selection has been profoundly renewed. It is characterized by a growing internationalization with 20 countries represented (against 16 in 2012) and 43% foreign participation. New countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia and Russia are making their entry with a new representation of 10 galleries. Out of 144 galleries in 2013, 35 are galleries that regularly participate in Art Paris. In terms of number of galleries, ART PARIS ART FAIR returns to its 2009 reference level. Among the new participations, we note the arrival of Laurent Delaye Gallery (London), Michel Soskine (Madrid), Heino Gallery (Helsinki), Tanit (Munich), Bodson-Emelinckx Gallery (Brussels),Várfok Gallery (Budapest), Sem Art Gallery (Monaco), Mimmo Scognamiglio (Milan) and Galleria Giuseppe Pero (ex 1 000 Eventi de Milan). As far as France is concerned, ART PARIS ART FAIR is delighted with the return of the Christophe Gaillard, Suzanne Tarasiève, Christian Berst, Claude Lemand and Farideh Cadot galleries as well as the first participations of Pièce Unique, Anne deVillepoix, the Maeght gallery and Fleury for the modern part.
RUSSIA IN THE SPOTLIGHT Turning towards the exploration of Eastern scenes, ART PARIS ART FAIR invites Russia. A central platform hosts a dozen galleries from Ekaterinburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don and Vladivostok while about twenty European galleries present their Russian artists. With nearly 90 artists represented, ART PARIS ART FAIR offers a true discovery of Russian art from the 1920s to the non-conformists of the 60s to 80s, through the great gures of the contemporary and current scene.
