8th Visa pour l’Image – Perpignan

As Russian bombing resumed on Chechnya in July 1996, Visa pour l’Image will exhibit Stanley Greene’s work on this war. Algeria by Algerian photographers will be part of this year’s program. The American photographer Margareth Bourke-White will also be in the spotlight for this edition. She is the first foreign photographer to be allowed to photograph Soviet industry, the first female war correspondent for the U.S. Army, and the first woman photographer for Life, where her photographs made the front page of the first issue. Another great lady of photojournalism, discover the warfield work of French photographer Catherine Leroy. Timor, the Mexican border, Guatemala, Cuba… all the international news is exposed in Perpignan for fifteen days.
