Angkor Photo Festival
01.12.12 → 08.12.12
As in previous editions, the 8th Angkor Photo Festival takes the decision not to impose a theme, but to invite the public to discover – or rediscover – the work of international photographers. This year we received more than 1,2oo applications for photo works from 67 different countries. 13o photographers, including 6o Asian photographers, will present their work as part of the 2o12 program. The festival thus asserts its main mission: the discovery of emerging Asian photographers. Angkor Photo Festival is a place for meetings, connections and exchanges between friends and professional colleagues in photography.
The 2o12 program of 1o indoor and outdoor exhibitions and 8 evenings of outdoor screenings is selected by: > Françoise Callier, Program Coordinator for the Angkor Photo Festival, in collaboration with the 9 members of an international committee representing 7 countries.
Each year, in the form of a “Carte Blanche”, the festival offers the programming of 2 evenings of screenings to two personalities of photography. The 2 invited curators for 2o12 are: > Munem Wasif / Photographer – Vu Agency – Bangladesh > Eddie Marsman / Writer, photo editor and project organizer – Netherlands and Marco Wiegers / Photographer – Netherlands
