28th Rencontres d’Averroès

Theme 2021: “Beliefs and sacred between Europe and the Mediterranean”.

To believe or not to believe? This is no longer the question! In the 21st century, we are no longer in this simple opposition between the world of science and that of beliefs. The 28th edition of the Rencontres d’Averroès questions the forms of the sacred and our ways of believing, through the long history of history and the challenges of our time. To explore these universal questions, researchers, writers and international artists will meet at La Criée for three days of debate. The Averroès Junior program brings together high school and university students for workshops and meetings.

In the evening, three major concerts in three new venues: Saint Victor Abbey, the concert hall Le Moulin and the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory. On the program: Opheus XXI – an exceptional international ensemble of sacred music, the Orchestre national de Barbès, which is celebrating its quarter-century anniversary, and the jazz quartet Raphaël Imbert, Bach Coltrane, which brings together two musical luminaries with genius.
