What paths to freedom?
The 2017 edition will debate a question that is more essential than ever, that of freedoms in the 21st century, at the risk of a universality that does not want to be a universalism that gives lessons. Freedoms have become fragile, precarious and uncertain, and there is a great temptation to renounce them and leave societies where democracy is threatened to their own devices, as if their destiny were to succumb to obscurantism and despotism, the only alternatives to terror and chaos.
