Kyotography, the international photography festival presents exhibitions in ten unique Kyoto sites, Kyoto’s national treasures, historic buildings, as well as contemporary architecture representative of the modern Japanese style. The first edition of the festival offers, regardless of genre or nationality, a selection of high quality photographs, videos and mixed visual works. Kyoto being a busy student city, Kyotography also organizes an educational program in collaboration with universities, as well as events with citizen participation, and special conferences and workshops. Retrospective exhibitions, tributes to an established photographer from Japan or abroad. First exhibition of works by emerging photographers and videographers. The legacy of photography by Japanese or international photographers. Presentation of photography books and documentary films.
