Art Paris Art Fair 2012

Art Paris, renamed “ART PARIS ART FAIR”, changes its face in 2012. A selection of 120 galleries from 16 countries, 56% of which are new entries, present a panorama of international modern and contemporary art under the aerial glass roof of the Grand Palais.
Art Paris Art Fair honors the European scenes: an exploration of the territory that favors the emergence of local and singular scenes from Marseille to Helsinki, from Cologne to Lisbon, from Zagreb to Vienna, via Budapest.
The European theme is an opportunity to (re)visit the historical currents of the 20th century which con nu nued to mark the creators of today: post-war geometric abstraction, new realism, the optical research of 1960s kineticism, the Viennese Actionism of the 1970s, the return to painting in the 1980s…
Although mainly focused on a Europe enlarged to the Balkans and Russia, Art Paris Art Fair echoes international artistic news from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
Open to all artistic practices, Art Paris Art Fair is enriched by new sectors with “Limited Series” dedicated to the design of contemporary creations, as well as “Grand Format”, a space dedicated to the presentation of monumental pieces within the Grand Palais.
Anxious to contribute to the dissemination of contemporary art and the influence of Paris as a major cultural capital, the fair also inaugurates in 2012 a series of conferences and a program “In Paris in Spring” for collectors and heads of institutions invited to reveal the rich artistic news of the City of Light in March.

Carried by a new team, a new theme and new events, Art Paris Art Fair 2012 promises to be an unmissable event for the arts in the heart of spring, in the center of Europe.
