Rynshu – Spring/Summer 2018 Collection

Since he returned to his very first name, RYNSHU finds inspiration in the contemplation of the Japanese modernism.
For this S/S 2018 collection, he adds a touch of romanticism. Rynshu presents this time his collection in the penthouse of the Hotel Meurice, a very special place he admires for a long time. He presents a new Japanese modernism with the City of Light and the freedom of the infinite sky as a background. One of the specificities of this collection is range of pants made out of the fabric of the traditional vintage kimonos.
This season, we also find a Japanese message embroidered in purple on black and white badges called kanjis. They express the faith in wishes or success in business.
The pattern of a Phoenix is embroidered on blazers, coats, jackets, pants and shirts, and mixed with Japanese characters. “Kotodama” is an old Japanese concept and refers to the belief that words contain a mysterious power and that, once pronounced, they can become a reality. Thus, these words are Rynshu’s kotodama, hopping for the best to happen and being grateful for what he has lived through.
Concerning the fabrics of the season, you will discover a hand-made black and white cotton with a “collage” technique. The embroidery thread adorns the camouflage pattern. The silk is light and transparent, with artistic pastel patterns. The weave silk/gold PM reveals inkjet prints and colourful flowers.
The black lining technique we can discover on all the jackets is another symbol of Rynshu’s couture style. You can also notice in this collection the association of extremely fine black organdi with shimmering lamé embroidered with purple thread. This fabric that we can see on the blazers, the pants, the shirts and even the hats, is worthy of couture.
Last but not least, you can notice that the sleeves of the shirts become very romantic thanks to a drapé technique.
