26th Bayeux Award Calvados-Normandy for War Correspondents

Bayeux ·

07.10.19 → 13.10.19

From October 7 to 13, Bayeux hosts the 26th Bayeux Calvados-Normandy War Correspondents’ Award. The City, the Department of Calvados, the Normandy Region and their partners are organizing a unique event dedicated to a unique profession: war reporter. And through this profession, the event offers a deciphering of past and current conflicts, through three evening debates, eight new exhibitions, screenings of documentaries and films, meetings for schoolchildren, a book fair, the unveiling of the stele at the Reporters Memorial and an evening awards ceremony.
The biggest female and male signatures but also the beginner reporters, all direct witnesses of the major conflicts as well as the most anonymous, press pause in the capital of the Bessin. Their objective: to bring an enlightened glance on the black areas of the planet, to reward the best photo, TV, radio and written press reports, to question themselves, to explain their mission but also to pay tribute to their colleagues imprisoned, disappeared or killed.
