GENESIS by Sebastião Salgado

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Montélimar exhibits GENESIS, the legendary work by Sebastião Salgado.
With GENESIS, the territory of Montélimar, located at the gates of the Drôme provençale, on the railway axis of Arles and Avignon, is firmly established as an emerging cultural destination that appeals to the most demanding photography enthusiasts as well as curious minds inclined to cultural discovery.
GENESIS is a visual immersion into the Earth’s most remote landscapes, an exploration journey to rediscover mountains, deserts, oceans, as well as animals and peoples that until today have escaped the imprint of modern civilization. This series, of an unheard-of power, reveals us a nearly virgin planet, preserved from the hand of man. But GENESIS is more than just an observation. Through the images of Sebastião Salgado, it is also a cry of alarm for our time. By revealing the striking beauty of this “lost” world, which survives with difficulty, the exhibition reminds us what is in danger and what we must protect.
