Montolieu · Collection Cérès Franco
29.04.17 → 03.11.17
For its third season, La Coopérative – Collection Cérès Franco gives carte blanche to curator Jean-Hubert Martin who, with the exhibition L’Internationale des Visionnaires, has chosen nearly two hundred and eighty works from the Cérès Franco collection, complemented by several pieces from the Daniel Cordier collection. He invites us to discover them in a playful way thanks to a journey that gives primacy to the spontaneity of the gaze.
About Jean-Hubert Martin Born in 1944, Jean-Hubert Martin is an art historian by training and was notably curator at the Centre Pompidou at its creation. Director of major museum institutions such as the Musée national d’art moderne Centre Pompidou, the Museum Kunst Palast in Düsseldorf and the Kunsthalle in Bern, he has organized numerous reference exhibitions, such as “Magiciens de la terre”, with an innovative concept that questions the relationships between works. Motivated by a curiosity for visual expressions, he is keen to create a dialogue between creations from all over the world and from all eras.
